Pupil Records – collect, maintain, and use data related to students’ abilities, achievements, interests, and aptitudes.
Group Guidance – provide planned group experiences with content- oriented activities.
Counseling – provide personalized opportunities for students on an individual or group basis to discuss attitudes, feelings, goals, and problems in a private, supportive environment.
Consultation – provide school personnel with information and resources to help students.
Resource Coordination – identify and coordinate school and community resources.
Placement – aid students in making effective transitions from one level of education to another and from school to employment.

Most four-year colleges and universities rely on standardized tests to determine how ready you are for college-level work. A good test score can help you get into your school of choice, earn scholarships, and receive advanced placement or college credit.

College Credit Plus Informational Meeting

You have until April 1, 2024 to notify your school counselor if you intend to participate in College Credit Plus 2024-2025 school year.
Ohio’s new College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university College Credit Plus is free. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.
The student/family will be required to reimburse Bedford City School District under three circumstances: 1) If the student receives a failing grade at the end of the college course; or 2) If the student withdraws from or drops the college course subsequent to the 14th calendar day after the particular course began. 3) Pursuant to Section 3365.09(C), neither a school district nor a nonpublic school shall seek reimbursement if the student is identified as being economically disadvantaged in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3333‐1‐65.6(B)(2). We will withhold grades and credits received for high school courses taken until reimbursement has been made.
Students may be placed on CCP Probation or CCP Dismissal if their performance in CCP courses fall below a minimum standard, their overall GPA in CCP courses drops below 2.0, or they drop multiple CCP courses within a semester. Students may appeal the consequences to the superintendent.
We have an agreement with Lorain County Community College where we offer several college classes right here at the high school, however, you can choose to take College Credit Plus courses from any college that offers a course that would benefit your future. This could include online courses.
You and your family should contact colleges for information, application forms, and criteria for acceptance into College Credit Plus. Some materials are available from your high school counselor and at the college's website. You must go through the procedures established by the colleges/universities to apply to College Credit Plus and to enroll in the course(s). You may have to take a college placement test to make sure you are college-ready.
Students may earn up to 30 credit hours per academic year. In order to determine the number of credit hours a student can take through CCP in a year, the secondary school must calculate the number of course credits that are for high school credit only and multiply that by 3. That number is then subtracted from the 30 hours. The result is the maximum number of credit hours a student can take in the College Credit Plus program. If students would like to take more than the maximum number of credit hours, the student can arrange to register and pay for those additional credit hours as a “self-pay” student. Those hours would be outside of the College Credit Plus program.

College Now (formerly Cleveland Scholarship Programs) provides Greater Cleveland students with guidance and access to funds to prepare for and graduate from college. For more than 40 years, our goal has been to help students pursue educational opportunities that empower them to embark on rewarding careers and strengthen our community.
Today, we remain focused on paving the way for high school students and adult learners to prepare for, finance, and graduate from college. We deliver college access and success advising, financial aid counseling, and scholarship services in schools, in the College Now Resource Center and through community-based programs.
College Now is the only college access and success organization with advisors staffed in Greater Cleveland schools throughout the academic year.
